Cabo Frio Surf Opened 15 years ago , the Surf Museum is considered one of the most complete museums of Latin and Central America. Surfer Telmo Moraes , former secretary of tourism in Cabo Frio, is the one who created it and nowadays manages the space . He has acquired masterpieces of the world of surfing and cataloged all the pieces . With more than 500 surfboards of many models and decades , he began his collection at home until he got room enough for it . " The museum was to tell the story of Australian surfing. But I ended up going back a little further in time to tell the story of the surfing world”, said the surfer , which displays beautiful in the space rarities such as surfboards of Batman , Randy Rarick da Bat. The Museum also displays all the medals and trophies of the swimmer Romulo Arantes , who was also a diver and a surfer. The collection includes miniature cars, skateboards from the 50s , shorts , shirts, machinery and old camcorders used to capture images of surfers in the sea, among many other objects . The surf museum of Cabo Frio with all its tradition , is no longer in our city . Unfortunately it is sad to know that all the work was not valued. You could say that our government does not invest in the sport. One of the members of the surfing association of Cabo Frio , Victor Ribas ( professional surfer ) , has given a push and always encourages the crowd along with the "old school surfers”
